This course exceeds the requirements outlined by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and as defined by National Fire Protection Association 1002.This course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills needed to perform as professional fire apparatus engineers. Classroom hours and an extra day of hands-on scenarios build the confidence and repetition that no pump operator should be without! There will be a blended learning component built into the course. 

For state certification, students are required to: 
• Be certified as a Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter 
• Pass the OSFM written exam (the student must sign up on the Pearson Vue website after the completion of the course) 
• Complete a driving practical with the student’s employing fire department
