This course meets all the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) requirements for Illinois State Certification as a Basic Operations Firefighter, as well as NFPA 1001.

Successful completion of this course will prepare students for the OSFM exam for certification as a Basic Operations Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Fire Service Vehicle Operations. Students will also receive MABAS Division V RIT Certification, NIMS 100 and 700 Certifications, and Courage to Be Safe Certification. Students must be equipped with NFPA-compliant protective clothing and SCBA.

Pre-Requisites: Must be a rostered member of a fire department and on OSFM roster to attend this course.
