Prepare to become a Certified EKG Technician (CET)! In this course, you’ll study both basic and advanced EKG concepts, including cardiac anatomy and physiology, proper lead placement for 5- and 12-lead EKGs, technical aspects of the EKG machine, how to calculate heart rate, and how to interpret rhythm strips. You’ll also learn advanced techniques for working with 12-lead EKG machines, patient preparation for EKG monitoring, and how to troubleshoot EKG artifacts. This training will equip you to assist physicians in diagnosing myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart rhythm irregularities. EKG machines are used in physicians’ offices, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. After successful completion of the course, you’ll be prepared to take the National Healthcareers Association (NHA) Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam.
