Most of McHenry County relies on private wells for water. Yet, many homeowners, businesses, and institutions give little thought to their wells—until the need arises for a new or replacement one. In this class, you’ll explore the evolution of well technology from early settlement times to the present day and learn how modern municipal and public water systems compare. The session will also include a discussion of the recently released McHenry County Water Resource Action Plan (WRAP). It raises an important question: Wells, wells everywhere—but will you be able to drink?
