Main Stay’s Horsemanship Lessons are designed for individuals new to horses who want to learn from the ground up—no riding involved. Through groundwork-based sessions facilitated by a PATH Intl. certified instructor and supported by trained volunteers, participants will build confidence, safety awareness, and a meaningful connection with our horses. Groups are kept small to ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment. Participants will learn essential horsemanship skills, including how to safely approach a horse; haltering and grooming; leading a horse and building trust; and understanding equine behavior and body language. Learning the language of horses and the skills to safely interact with them lays the groundwork for a lifelong partnership. Whether you're just curious or considering future riding, this is a great place to start your journey. Come have some fun and meet the Main Stay horses! Students will need to be able to walk on uneven surfaces, stand for up to an hour, and be age 18+.
