This course meets all the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) requirements for Illinois State Certification as a Basic Operations Firefighter, as well as NFPA 1001.

Successful completion of the course will prepare students for the OSFM exam for certification in Basic Operations Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Fire Service Vehicle Operations. Students will also receive MABAS Division V RIT Certification, NIMS 100 and 700 Certifications, and Courage to Be Safe Certification. Students must be equipped with NFPA-compliant protective clothing and SCBA.
