This course exceeds all the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) requirements for state certification and provides students with the basic knowledge of skills needed to perform vehicle and machinery rescue at the NFPA 1670 & 1006 Operations level. This important course is a co-requisite for Advanced Technician Firefighter Certification. Student must be on fire department roster with OSFM to enroll in class. The student must meet all OSFM attendance requirements to sit for final exams. McHenry County College will register students to take final OSFM written exam. Required Textbook: Vehicle Rescue and Extrication, 2nd edition, Ron Moore, ISBN: 9780323018333
Pre-Requisites: OSFM Certified Firefighter II or Basic Operations FF
Equipment: NFPA compliant PPE w/eye protection and gloves
