A young boy dreams of the skies above, captivated by the idea of becoming a pilot. When World War II begins, he eagerly volunteers for the Air Corps, but he is too young and his mother says no. Undeterred, he studies the stars and attends college to learn more. Once he’s old enough, he finally joins the service with his sights set on flying. He excels in his training, but the Army has other plans for him. The boy’s dreams are shattered, yet he stoically accepts his new role, "If that’s what my country wants." What follows becomes one of the most dangerous tours of duty during World War II.
