In each Native American nation, there exist the most unique & honored of people, the medicine men and medicine women. The objects they use to direct healing energies are functional & profoundly beautiful. These ‘tools’ are carved, beaded, painted, adorned with intricately woven & dyed porcupine needles, fur, leather, feathers of hummingbirds to eagles and they are considered to be ‘alive.’ Some objects exist only for hours while others have lived for centuries.
